The More You Know, the Better it Goes

We keep you well-informed so you will always have positive experiences with JHC. To get the most out of our services, it’s important to know these important things.

IMPORT & EXPORT FREIGHT

Think about freight forwarders as travel agents. Except instead of arranging travel for people, a freight forwarder or forwarding agent arranges transport for your goods. Importers and exporters rely on freight forwarders to book cargo space, provide packing services and prepare the necessary documentation to move goods around the world.

Many but not all freight forwarders can coordinate Customs clearance. JHC has experienced customs brokers who can arrange Customs clearance of your goods and packing facilities to secure them for shipping. We are also happy to help you get your shipments insured.

Yes, our receiving warehouse is in Port Klang close to Klang North Port (Kuala Pelabuhan Utara).

JHC will prepare required documentation for customs clearance. Cleared shipments can be picked up at our Port Klang warehouse or we can help you arrange delivery of your shipment to your doorstep. Before your shipment leaves its port of origin, verify with customs the rules, regulations and prohibitions to avoid delays or penalties. If you export goods, it is always preferable to do the same for destination customs before shipping. You can also check with our experienced customs brokers regarding customs compliance.

We have representatives and agents in major cities and ports around the world who are ready to assist you in getting your shipments cleared and delivered upon arrival.

Some of the more common fees levied on shipments are Customs clearance and handling fees, duties and taxes, port or airport handling fees, warehousing fees, and transportation fees. All fees are quoted upfront and clearly detailed so you can price your goods accordingly.

Whether you are working on tight margins or tight delivery windows, we do our best to arrange a route and flight schedule that fits your shipping requirements. The key is to get all your documents in order for smooth clearance and to make allowances for delays or disruptions like bad weather. If you plan well and plan early with JHC, transit times should take between 6 to 7 days for less urgent deliveries or the next business day if your shipment really cannot wait.

Due to space limitations and safety issues there are strict don’t all carriers observe. Large volume shipments, hazardous materials and chemicals, flammables, computer batteries, live animals, biological materials, powders, and perishables are not allowed.

For Less Than Container Load (LCL) and air freight shipments, space is a major consideration. Think about how much space 1 kilo of golf balls would occupy compared to 1 kilo of ping-pong balls. Your cargo dimensions and weight are calculated to determine how much volume (space) versus weight (load) it will take up. Rates will be based on whichever is greater.

Thank you for considering us! You can start right after signing an appointment letter naming us as your forwarding agent and customs broker. Once we have received your shipping requirements, we will get back to you with a quote detailing all costs and processes within 24 hours.

SUPPLY CHAIN LOGISTICS SOLUTIONS

A milk run is a cost-saving logistics system where loads from different suppliers are collected and delivered to you in a single round trip. The method is modeled after dairy deliveries, hence the name.

If you have 6 suppliers and they send a truck every day to deliver your supplies, the cost of each trip will be passed on to you. A milk run consolidates these trips into a single round trip, meaning you just need to deal with one transportation provider to meet your daily needs. This results in truckload optimization, shorter routes and stock reduction, which typically translate into savings of at least 25%. This system is particularly beneficial for automotive manufacturers and vendors.

Our Direct Delivery solutions are what you need for fast delivery and pickup of goods. Point-of-origin to point-of-destination deliveries offer faster transit times per trip. We work closely with our fulfillment partners to improve load efficiency and offer customized trucks of various sizes.
